Gabe founded Blakeney to bring a management consultancy mindset to strategic communications, supporting clients on some of their most fundamental business challenges.

Gabe began his career as a strategy consultant at Accenture, before finding his calling in communications with senior roles at Barclays, Prudential, British Gas, and Centrica, where he was Corporate Affairs Director for the company’s international business.

Gabe left Centrica to lead external relations for Britain Stronger in Europe, the ‘Remain’ campaign for the UK’s EU Referendum in 2016, directing a team that built and mobilised the largest ever network of endorsers in a British political campaign.

He has trained as a game ranger in Zimbabwe, and as a spy for a major BBC television series.

Jonathan is a senior corporate affairs adviser, having advised some of the country’s largest businesses on political, regulatory and media issues for more than 15 years.

He began his career as a local journalist then, following a stint working in politics, he moved into communications as Head of Public Affairs at The Salvation Army.

He initially worked in consultancy at AS Biss, becoming a member of the senior management team when it merged to form Mandate. He was part of the small team that led the merger of Mandate, Hogarth and Penrose to form MHP Communications, and later became Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of MHP’s Corporate Affairs division.

Jonathan left MHP in 2017 to join MSL as Managing Director, Corporate Reputation. He was listed in PRWeek’s 2019 Power Book, and is a 2019 PRWeek Awards judge.

Tas started her career in Beijing, providing strategic communications support to multinational companies, including Air Products, Mars and Novo Nordisk, as they expanded their operations in Asia.

She then moved to Brussels, where she gained a firm understanding of the EU and supported companies in their efforts to shape policy across Europe.

Tas then moved back to London where she worked for the CBI as a Senior Campaigns Adviser covering energy and infrastructure before joining a major communications consultancy. Working with a range of clients, including Siemens, Huawei, Zurich Municipal and the Department of International Trade, she provided senior counsel on both public affairs and corporate communications.

Prior to joining Blakeney, Tas worked at McDonald’s in Corporate Communications for Eastern Europe. She was Co-Chair of the PRCA’s Diversity Network in 2016.

Lizzie served as Special Advisor to Iain Duncan Smith before becoming Press Secretary to Prime Minister Theresa May, and most recently as Chief of Staff to Rory Stewart – helping him run his campaign for Mayor of London.

Lizzie also has worked in the private sector, providing direct advice to CEOs as well as devising successful public affairs and communications campaigns.

This variety of experience, alongside extensive connections across politics and the press, means Lizzie is well placed to advise clients on how to engage with government in order to effect the change they want to see, as well as how to design persuasive and eye catching media campaigns Lizzie is particularly interested in the nexus between business and politics and helping clients navigate that intersection to their advantage.

Terence is a senior digital communications strategist, content director, and creative consultant, having directed digital, brand, and social media campaigns for some of the world’s most successful brands and entities.

He began his career as an electronic music journalist then, following a period working in the U.S. for technology platform Beatport, set up his own PR consultancy for major music artists, DJs, festivals, and nightlife businesses.

Later, he joined Broadcast PR specialists Markettiers as Creative Director, where he directed digital, social, and video campaigns for clients including the UAE Government, Adidas, Marriott, Legal & General Investment Management, LEGO, Nissan, and Tata.

Terence left Markettiers to become Global Head of Digital PR at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, where he oversaw the luxury brand’s digital, video, social, and influencer communications strategy for three and a half years during a number of pivotal product launches.

Neale is one of the UK’s most experienced political and policy experts, having advised three London Mayors, and the leader of the Labour Party.

Neale led housing and regeneration for former London Mayor Ken Livingstone and is credited by him for being “the mastermind behind the Olympics”. Neale was one of the few members of Livingstone’s team to be retained by Boris Johnson, and was appointed deputy Chair and then Chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation by Johnson following the Games. He was also on the Board of the Olympic Delivery Authority throughout its existence.

He has also worked for current London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, and leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn.

Neale advises Blakeney’s clients on policy and political strategy at a local and national level, with a particular focus on infrastructure, housing, development and regeneration.

Sam is one of the UK’s leading trade policy experts. He was previously a member of the Department for International Trade’s strategic trade advisory group (2019-20) and is regularly called on to brief businesses, parliamentarians, government officials and European institutions.

Sam often appears in the media, including the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme, The Financial Times, The Times, The New York Times, Politico, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal and Sky News.

He is a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform, a think tank, and a visiting research fellow at The Policy Institute, Kings College London. He also co-founded the UK Trade Forum.

Sam advises Blakeney's clients on trade policy with a particular focus on the EU-UK trade relationship, customs, border carbon taxes, regulatory barriers to trade and trade in services.

Emily is a former government special adviser with a strong track record of delivering successful public affairs and communications campaigns for some of the world’s largest companies, charities and NGOs.

Emily has extensive experience in political communications, having served as a special adviser in both the 2010 and 2015 Conservative governments. In 2015 she led the Conservatives’ General Election campaign in Wales, helping to secure the best result for the Party in over thirty years. She has also held political roles in Parliament and as an aide to the Party Chairman at Conservative Campaign Headquarters. Prior to working in politics, Emily’s background was in finance. She began her career as a correspondent for the Financial Times and trained in private banking and relationship management at the Royal Bank of Canada.

Having worked on both sides of the fence as a lobbyist and in government, Emily knows what it takes to craft a compelling campaign that reaches the people that matter. With a strong network of contacts and a passion for making a difference, Emily is uniquely placed to advise clients on how to effect real change on the issues they care about.

A specialist in political communications and strategy, she has expertise in campaigns management, risk mitigation and corporate strategy with a particular focus on the delivering measurable change in adverse conditions.

With insight across the public and private sectors, and extensive connections across Westminster and the press, her deep understanding of British party politics allows her to help bridge the divide between private businesses and government. She has also appeared regularly in the media as a commentator on British politics and specifically the Labour Party for the BBC, Sky News and has featured on weekly political podcasts.

As a keen women’s football fan, Stephanie also plays in midfield for the Women’s Parliamentary football team.

Sara started her career working for Alex Salmond, former First Minister of Scotland, before moving to the SNP Westminster Group to provide policy analysis across energy, transport, trade, and defence.

Prior to joining Blakeney, Sara worked for a number of leading public affairs agencies and provided FTSE 250 clients and corporate brands with strategic counsel. Sara is an expert in developing and implementing integrated public affairs campaigns and has supported Wales & West Utilities raise the profile of hydrogen gas and hybrid heating systems with policy makers, assisted Mitie launch their Electric Vehicle fleet in Holyrood and lobbied the Government on behalf of the Impact Investing Institute for a Green Sovereign Bond.

Having grown up in three Southern African countries (Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa), Nicole’s upbringing helped shape her penchant for varied perspectives and avenues of creativity.

Her expertise lies in bringing brand strategy, storytelling, and design together fluidly and effectively.

She began her career at North VCA, a brand design consultancy. Here, amongst a broad mix of projects, Nicole formed part of the core team working on Packa-Ching – a game-changing non-profit turning used plastic into a valuable resource that supports vulnerable communities. She also worked at the frontline of the Million Plus campaign – a movement driving a recycling revolution in South Africa.

An avid reader, Nicole is happiest learning intensively about anything she can. She’s fascinated with what lies at the interstices between design and other systems, and is passionate about moving beyond creative silos to create positive, sustainable change.

Prior to joining Blakeney, Olivia worked with APCO Worldwide where she was based in Riyadh and London offices. Olivia used her communications experience in a number of areas including city development, travel and tourism, healthcare, and mining and metals. In Riyadh, she was part of a Secretariat team building and managing Global Advisory Boards for a number of large scale projects.

Prior to her time at APCO Olivia worked in the UK House of Lords as a Parliamentary Researcher for Lord David Puttnam CBE and as the Campaign Manager for Lord Jack McConnell where she oversaw an international team working in media relations and PR to promote the McConnell International Foundation’s charitable endeavours.

Olivia graduated with an MA Hons. from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she majored in International Relations.

Nicholas graduated from the University of York where he studied History and Politics. His dissertation on the Napoleonic Invasion of Russia was chosen as an exemplary work for future students.

Nicholas he has worked as an intern for Grayling as well as spending time within the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and most recently as an Account Executive at communications firm Camargue. He is fascinated by the challenges and opportunities for the world of public affairs communications in the post-Brexit universe.

Nicholas is a keen traveller and has played rugby since a young age.
