Hugo is a public affairs specialist with fifteen years' experience working in strategic communications consultancies and for politicians in Westminster. He has extensive experience in devising and running integrated campaigns for clients across a wide range of sectors, including energy, water, transport, tech, planning and development, and sport.
Hugo began his career as the assistant to a Conservative MP who has since been elevated to the House of Lords. He then joined one of the UK’s largest public affairs agencies, where he held various roles over a 10-year period including 3 years as a Partner.
Hugo leads Blakeney’s public affairs team as its managing director, advising clients on how to use their communications to address regulatory challenges, manage reputation and demonstrate delivery in an increasingly politicised business world. He works on some of the agency’s biggest and longest-standing accounts.
