The Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities Simon Clarke witnessed the scale of the development on the vast former MG Rover site as one of his first engagements, alongside Mayor Andy Street and Gary Sambrook MP.

For nearly two decades, St. Modwen has been working to revitalise the site which was, at its peak, home to over 25,000 workers and Europe’s largest car factory.

Now, with local funding secured from the Mayor, more than 1,450 new homes have already been built and an additional 1,000 will be delivered - including all-electric homes as well as new industrial space that will create local jobs.

“It’s an incredibly impressive development…a remarkable example of integrating residential and commercial development together in a way that looks good and is green and clean, a real model of its kind regenerating such an iconic site."
