Blakeney analysis of the Government’s morning media rounds have revealed the party’s most active political spokespeople across key broadcasting platforms.

The data, which was collected by Blakeney Director Ant Pickles and which featured exclusively in The Times and then the Economist, shows that the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster – Pat McFadden – and Health Secretary – Wes Streeting – have been the most frequent voices with eight and six appearances on BBC’s flagship Today Programme respectively.

It was the absence of Angela Rayner that was perhaps most interesting.

The Deputy Prime Minister has only given one Today Programme interview since the General Election in July 2024; this is despite members of her department, Matthew Pennycook and Jim McMahon, accumulating a combined seven appearances on the show.
