Blakeney has appointed Luke Graham – CIMA-qualified finance director, former MP and Downing Street Adviser - as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Luke served as MP for Ochil and South Perthshire between 2017 to 2019 and first became actively involved in politics during the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, campaigning for the unionist “Better Together” movement.
During his tenure in Parliament, he served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. He was also a member of the Public Accounts Committee and later the Finance Committee. His parliamentary work focused on issues such as renewable energy, domestic abuse, and farming. Following his tenure in Parliament he worked as a senior special advisor in No10 Downing Street.
In addition to Luke’s political experience, he has a 15-year career in finance, taking leadership roles in start-ups and multinationals, working across the UK, Asia and the USA.
Since leaving Parliament Luke has worked building and leading sustainability teams at leading management consulting firms both in and outside of the Big 4.
Blakeney – a strategic communications and public affairs consultancy – has gone from strength to strength in recent months with a host of senior appointments. Graham’s hire follows on the heels of the appointment of new Director Jack Sellers, a Senior Adviser to the former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
