You will need to be confident, sharp, creative, and energetic. We are especially looking for originality and personality. Therefore, the following are guidelines, not strict prerequisites:
- Have experience in developing and implementing corporate communications and/or public affairs strategies
- The ability to run day to day accounts; supporting client leads when it comes to client reporting, contact and counsel
- Confidence and gravitas to be able to advise clients on complex challenges
- A strategic thinker who can devise and implement creative and impactful campaigns
- A deep understanding of how government works and how policy is developed
- A strong writer, able to pen anything from a communications strategy to a detailed policy document or thought leadership piece
- A team player, great interpersonal skills, and someone who brings a sense of fun to their work
- Great time management and ability to multi-task
- A stickler for detail, someone who doesn’t miss an opportunity to correct grammar or spelling and is a formatting guru

Main roles and responsibilities
- Act as counsel to clients, supporting the development of their communication strategies
- Shaping and steering creative policy engagement programmes
- Building and maintaining networks across policy and business to stay abreast of relevant trends and developments
- Writing and editing communications materials including but not limited to thought consultation responses, policy proposals and thought leadership
- Running account team, providing leadership and guidance to peers and colleagues
- Being the eyes and ears for clients; being hungry for opportunities and helping us demonstrate added value
- Assisting senior colleagues in fulfilling their responsibilities to keep accounts on track and within budget
- Being a key part of the Blakeney team
