Blakeney has made the shortlist for the UK Green Business Awards for the third year running – a testament to our teams’ success in using communications to support the green economy.
Whilst growth is one of the government’s biggest challenges, this doesn’t ring true in the green sector, which is growing at triple the rate of the UK economy, according to recent CBI analysis.
We set up Blakeney’s Impact team in 2023, to help businesses and organisations capitalise on this economic opportunity whilst helping decarbonise some of the world’s most polluting industries.
Underpinned by Net Positive Thinking, which recognises that sustainability is integral to commercial success, our Impact team brings together communications, digital strategy, public affairs and ESG Counsel all under one roof – with each discipline working to complement one another.
Through this integrated approach, we help our clients drive positive and lasting change across the world, including:
Putting Octopus at the centre of the Westminster energy conversation and ensuring it has had a prominent seat at the policy table, securing visits to Octopus sites from the highest level of political stakeholders – including Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves and Ed Miliband.
Working with the Tropical Forest Alliance and our Brazilian strategic partner Profile to promote a report that advocated for sustainable food production in the Cerrado biome. The report garnered extensive coverage across regional and international outlets – including Globo News and Reuters – and was considered by Brazilian ministries as they worked on a strategy for the Cerrado.
Helping Regen10 foster collaboration across food systems and encourage a ground-up approach to the regenerative agriculture transition, including through developing compelling digital content that amplifies farmer, Indigenous and local community voices.
As well as helping our clients deliver positive change, we’re also focused on ensuring we are sustainable – as recognised by our B-Corp certification last year. The certification process and the journey we’ve been on since has helped provide a clearer definition of our company’s mission and the positive actions we will take in future to continuously improve.
We look forward to joining the people leading the green transition at the UK Green Business Awards ceremony on 11 June for what is always a wonderful celebration of climate innovation. Best of luck to all nominees, and fingers crossed it’s a win for Blakeney!
