Blakeney supports Hackney Foodbank as its charity of the year

While London has the reputation of being one of the wealthiest cities in the world, that doesn't tell the whole story.

Around 1 in 10 London residents have just £3 a day to spend on food and a quarter regularly skip meals.

This year Blakeney is supporting Hackney Foodbank, a charity that provided 260,000 meals in 2024 to those who might otherwise go without.

Last week we kicked off our partnership by visiting the Community Hub in Homerton, looking round the warehouse and meeting some of the site’s fantastic staff and volunteers.

We took part in a supermarket sweep and learnt more about the challenges and experiences of those visiting the foodbank as well as those working there.

Thanks to the team at Hackney Foodbank for hosting us, and we look forward to supporting the charity further over the next year.
